Borrowing from the distinct design style of the fifties, design elements include sharp angles on the benchtops, exaggerated curves and space-age feature panels in metal silver dot laminate. Light pastel green and yellow hues are intermixed on the 2 Pac painted cabinets along with curved stainless steel handles. Open shelf cabinets are done in bold contrasting bright colours, which cements the look. 

Modern features include Blum Antaro TandemBox 30kg soft close drawer runners and moving corner hardware. The retro-style roller door allows for easy use and concealed storage of small appliances, while two separate pantries boast drawer inserts and custom shelving for ergonomic ease of access.

The multi-functional floor plan maximises the small space without over cluttering, opening up to the adjoining dining and living areas. Storage and work zones are creatively defined by multi-coloured 2 Pac painted cabinetry. Stone and timber benchtops add character and ample work space. 

The use of shapes, materials, colours and finishes were also used to enhance the perceived interior size of the room. The use of cooler paint colours on the main cabinetry make the room seem bigger. Open shelves were then strategically placed to give depth to some areas and contrast in others. The backs of the open shelving were accented with metal silver dot laminate to give a receding affect. Custom-made curved cabinetry also helped to maximise the space available. 

The end result is a design nostalgic in its form and full of charm, while offering the functionality of a modern kitchen.
